About Us


The Fruit Research Station, Himayatbagh, was established during the year 1974, at Kotwalpura (Now it is Sidharth Udyan) for carrying out research on fruits and vegetables crops with a view to utilize sewage and sludge water.

During 1941 The research on fruit crops was started with the help of Indian Council of Agriculture Research, New Delhi. In the year 1974, the Fruit Research Station was shifted from Kotwalpura to Himayatbagh, Aurangabad. The total area of the station is 110.49 ha. Aurangabad a divisional head quarter is centrally situated in Maharashtra and is about 400 Km to the East of Bombay, the state capital.

It is situated between 20 latitude and, 76 E longitudes at a height of 585 meters above mean sea level. It is linked with pleasant moderate temperature and rainfall with fairly dry and warm weather with 700 mm annual precipitation. The minimum winter temperature is about below 90 C, while the maximum temperature do not exceeds 41.500 C.
